Depending on the type of claim and date of loss, your rates may or may not be affected. Filing an Act of God claim, you cannot be punished. As, there is no way for you to prevent the loss of an Act of God occurrence such as a hail or windstorm. Filing under a named storm or hurricane may or may not result in increases on your policy. Other factors include, extent of damage, location and your claims history.
